Few days after your leading and reliable online newspaper http://www.daylight.ng exclusively reported that Nigeria-born US based Reggae star, Victor Essiet famously known as Mandators was arrested by the men of the Lagos State Police Command, for allegedly duping a Lagos business man and boss of Aurum Group, Mr. Maurice Etim, the sum of $86, 000, the messy case has taken a new dimension.
Reliable information reaching us has it that the embattled musician, who was arrested last Saturday morning in Akwa-Ibom and flown to the Lagos Police Command that same day, was arraigned at the Ikeja Magistrate Court 1, on Monday, June 29, for using a fictitious company in the US to commit fraud.
He was later remanded at the Kirikiri Maximum Prison, Lagos, for failing to meet his bail conditions.
In fact, Daylight.ng can authoritatively and exclusively report that the disgraced star is currently in Kirikiri Prison, while waiting for his bail conditions to be perfected.
Daylight.ng learnt that Essiet’s bail conditions include: two sureties, who must be landlords in Lagos and willing to deposit N5m bonds each alongside original copies of their CoO.
Meanwhile, Mandators international passport was also confiscated and deposited with the court’s registrar. He was also warned to desist from travelling outside Lagos.
Meanwhile, an insider hinted Daylight.ng that the Lagos State Police Command, had officially written the US Embassy, notifying them that the entertainer is in their custody for alleged fraudulent act and not kidnapped as erroneously insinuated earlier in some quarters.
