An Igbo business man, Chijoke Ngwu Ogbodo and his wife have been murdered in Katsina state by suspected Fulani herdsmen.
The late couple were killed in the presence of their children by the gunmen. Ogbodo who is a native of Nkanu local government in Enugu State was a prominent businessman in the state. He is the manufacturer of the popular Sir Benjik Pure Water.
Sources told Daily Post that the assassins clubbed the couple and butchered them with a machete before shooting them at a close range.
The Igbo community in Katsina have been gripped with fear and thrown into deep mourning as a result of the killings. The assassination, reports say, appears to be a well-coordinated and targeted attacks on Igbos in the state.
Daily Post gathered that the corpses of the couple have been removed from their residence along Katsina Bypass and deposited at the government owned mortuary in the state.
Meanwhile, Igbo leaders in the state have expressed doubts over the Katsina state police command’s ability to bring the perpetrators of the dastardly act to book, According to them, previous similar attacks have gone unresolved.
