Today’s Message: Understanding the Times (4): Sexual Perversion
Scriptures: 2 Timothy 3:4; 1 Thessalonians 4:2-7
We are in a sexual crisis moment in the world right now. This message is to make known to you how man has redefined the meaning of sex and the purpose for which God created it.
Sex is a word that is now mostly used amongst this generation; everything now is sexy, i.e. the music, video, cartoons, dress, water, etc.; It has to be sexy or it is not okay.
The concept of sex came from God. He had a good thought in His mind when He created sex. The only context where sex is good and acceptable to God is when its done between a man and woman who are legally married together (husband and wife).
If you are having sex outside the context in which God created it, it is called “Sexual Perversion”.
Sexual Perversion is any sex outside of marriage. Perversion is to turn away from the right cause; it means to lead astray morally.
Sexual Perversion includes Masturbation, premarital sex, extra marital sex, serial monogamy, sodomy, homosexuality, lesbianism, incest, rape, molestation. Bisexuality, Transgender, pedophilia, etc.
Definition of Terms:
Masturbation is the sexual stimulation of one’s own genitals for sexual arousal or other sexual pleasure, usually to the point of orgasm. The stimulation may involve hands, fingers, everyday objects, sex toys or combinations of these
Pre-marital sex is sexual activity practiced by people who are unmarried.
Serial monogam is a succession of short monogamous relationships.
Sodomy: Originally the term sodomy, is derived from the story of Sodom and Gomorrah (Genesis 18 &19), it was commonly restricted to as anal sex.
Homosexuality is sexual desire or behavior directed toward persons of one’s own sex- man to man, woman to woman=Lesbianism
Incest is sexual relations between persons so closely related that they are forbidden by law or religion to marry
Rape is the unlawful act of forcing a female to have sexual intercourse, as by physical attack or threat. Any act of sexual intercourse that is forced upon a person.
Molestation– To make indecent sexual advances. To bother, interfere with or annoy.
Bisexuality– Sexually responsive to both sexes. Have a wife or husband but also has sexual relations with the same sex.
Transgender– Usually people who are born with typical male or female anatomies, but feel as though they’ve been born into the “wrong body
Pedophilia or paedophilia is a psychiatric disorder in which an adult or older adolescent experiences a primary or exclusive sexual attraction to prepubescent children, generally age 11 years or younger.
Bestiality -Sexual intercourse between a human being and an animal
Fetishes– The compulsive use of some object, or part of the body, as a stimulus in the course of attaining sexual gratification, as a shoe, a lock of hair, or underclothes or food or urine etc
Sadomasochism– is the giving or receiving of pleasure from acts involving the receipt or infliction of pain or humiliation.
Necrophilia, also called thanatophilia, is a sexual attraction or sexual act involving corpses. The term was coined by the Belgian alienist Joseph Guislain.
Pornography – Writings, photographs, movies, etc, intended to arouse sexual excitement.
All these terms defined above are NOT for Christians; they should not be practiced amongst us. You must take control of your body and flee from sexual immorality and perversion.
sexual perversion comes from lust. The aim of lust is to take you to defilement. Take control of your body and learn to be contented with what you have (be contended with you husband/wife).
The only thing you can do to flee from these forms of perversion is to remember that you are a holy and chosen person with the ability to control your body and overcome any sexual immorality. Sometimes, the devil wants to use your past sexual immorality (i.e. rape, molestation, etc.) to hurt you, refuse to live in the past. God has forgiven you, let it go and live for Christ; burn your past away.
“…For this is the will of God, your sanctification: that you should abstain from sexual immorality…” 1 Thessalonians 4:3-5
We live in the world, but we are not of this world. YOU CAN live a sexual immorality-free life. Yes, you can!
